Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Sally is a local Paediatric Occupational Therapist with expertise in helping children to develop skills for success in starting school and at school. Sally has provided therapy to people across the lifespan, and over the last nine years has honed her skills in therapy for preschool and early primary school aged children whilst working in a variety of settings including community health, within the department of education’s school readiness program, in private practice and in product design focusing on child development. 

 

Sally has a fun and playful approach to therapy and can provide support, practical strategies and advice relating to motor skills, independence, self-regulation, social skills and emotional development. Sally can provide additional support and advocacy for the transition to school or for issues arising within school, as well as peace of mind for parents. 


Sally is trained in a variety of OT approaches including CO-OP (Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance), PRPP (Perceive, Recall, Plan Perform System of Task Analysis, Hanen SPARK communication, Social Thinking (Zones of Regulation) and the Alert program amongst others

Motor skills including: Developing handedness, writing, cutting and pasting, drawing, colouring in, getting dressed, manipulate a lunch box, and for general participation in the classroom

Self-regulation including: attention and concentration, adapting to different activities and the energy level required, transitioning between different tasks,

Social skills including: ability to sit well in a group, skills for playing and working alongside others

Independence including: Being able to follow directions, demonstrate initiative, basic self-help skills i.e. toileting and washing hands, problem solving, packing up, asking for help, participation, answering questions in front of a group.

Emotional development including: emotional regulation, emotional awareness, support for separation from parent or caregiver. 

Fees:

Initial 50 minute assessment sessions and subsequent sessions are $195

Sally is registered with Medicare provider and $60.35 is rebated with an Enhanced Primary Care Plan.

Sally accepts plan-managed and self-managed NDIS plans.

Sally is registered with private health providers in Australia and if you have private health insurance extras you may be eligible to claim a rebate.

Sally’s therapy sessions are evidence-based, she is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist, a member of Occupational Therapy Australia.
