Laura is an attentive and genuine psychologist whose practice values are based upon empathy, understanding, and safety.
Laura enjoys collaborating with her clients to create mutually agreed-upon goals. A lot of Laura’s work includes the power of vulnerability and self-acceptance, while also recognising her client’s inner resources and strengths. Laura incorporates an understanding that everyone has their own set of unique qualities and skillsets. These individual differences are harnessed and applied within sessions. Laura strongly believes in encouraging the pursuit of stable, healthy relationships within her client’s immediate social circle to ensure they are well supported in and outside of the therapy space.
Laura has experience working with adolescents and adults within the public system. She has a particular interest in working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, grief and loss, identity, anger management, perfectionism, and interpersonal difficulties.
Laura uses a range of evidence-based therapies to support her clients including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-focussed Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. Her therapeutic approach is guided by her client’s strengths using positive psychology.
Fees:
50 minute consultation sessions are $240
Health Care Card Holders session rate is negotiable
Laura is registered with Medicare. If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan you are able to claim a rebate of $141.85 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year
Laura is registered with private health providers in Australia. If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim rebates for your psychological sessions. The level of cover and any applicable waiting periods vary between providers.
Private Health Insurance rebates may also be applicable however cannot be used in addition to a Medicare rebate.
Referrals may also be accepted from Transport Accident Commission (TAC), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
